Dr Brooks’ research spans the fields of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and social science, with more than 20 years’ experience across academia and industry. Her scholarly research involves qualitative field studies of ICTs and information systems in their social and organizational contexts of development and use. Specific research topics range from computer-human interaction and social media, through IT and organizational routines, to information standards and infrastructure. She has also worked as a software developer, user interface designer, and business analyst in software and information systems fields.
Dr Brooks has published peer-reviewed research in information systems, engineering management, and public policy journals. She has also published book chapters and presented her research at international conferences.
Editing and Reviewing Experience
Dr Brooks peer reviews manuscripts for journals and conferences in the disciplines of engineering, management, information science, and information systems. She has also edited white papers for industry colleagues.
Dr Brooks has written numerous journal articles for international publications, as well as book chapters and conference papers.
